Natascha Stolle
Designer name: Natascha Stolle
Origin: Charlottesville, Virginia via Honolulu, Hawaii
Career highlight: “The Fashion East show, without a doubt!”
Design background: Natascha studied at Central Saint Martins for her MA in fashion. She worked for Peter Jensen before setting up her own label.
What are your design signatures? “Slouchy tailoring; detailed textile treatments; tongue in cheek accessories.”
How would you describe the Natascha Stolle woman? “Fun and laid back, a bit dorky, but effortlessly stylish.”
What encapsulates London fashion for you? “The number 38 bus. You can see a little bit of everything from it, and it’s that mix which makes London so unique.”
What do you hope the new decade will mean for your brand? “I hope that the economic doom and gloom will lift and leave in its wake throngs of optimistic but threadbare people wanting to reconnect with their wardrobes!”
How does London influence your designs? “The many different and often conflicting ‘Londons’ I inhabit constantly influence and inform my design. From the stuffy, buttoned-up English aristos with whom I ride cavalry horses in Hyde Park, to the fashion trash bag kids I see falling over on the streets of Dalston on any given night, as well as everyone who falls somewhere in between. I am endlessly entertained and inspired by the people who surround me here.”
