Catwalk Report / Day 6

This September’s dedicated menswear day showcased 25 designers and followed on from the success of the menswear showcase last February which was co-curated by Lulu Kennedy, founder of Fashion East. A panel of key opinion formers from retail and media also advised on the designer selection. The schedule encompassed a diverse mix of designers spanning emerging through to established, incorporating catwalk shows, presentations and installations.

Opening with shows at the BFC venue in Somerset House were Carolyn Massey and James Long, recipients of the BFC’s first NEWGEN MEN talent support scheme sponsored by TOPMAN.
Fashion East’s menswear installations, curated by Lulu Kennedy, took place in the East Wing and Vaults at Somerset House.
MAN showed this season’s three recipients, Christopher Shannon, J.W. Anderson and Katie Eary alongside TOPMAN Design at Somerset House.
Savile Row tailor E Tautz held presentations in-store while Wintle, the eponymous label by Jsen Wintle, showed his collection on the catwalk at Somerset House.
Other designers who showed as part of the day were Lou Dalton, who held a salon style show in The Portico Rooms and A Child of the Jago, co-founded by Vivienne Westwood’s son Joseph Corre in E1.
bStore and Tim Soar showed back to back as the closing show of the day.
Aside from the show schedule Nicole Farhi held an evening event in-store to celebrate 20 years of their menswear collection.
