Stuart Stockdale, Design Director, Jaeger London
How would you describe the Jaeger London woman?
“For me, it is not about a particular muse or idealized woman. My ideal customer is any woman with a sense of style and personality – I love to see someone make a piece their own, adding their own character to a look.”
"A cool, modern and urban collection mixing historic, authentic references with thoroughly modern cut and fabrications. A bold graphic print builds on Jaeger’s longstanding love for graphic pattern. Statement coats form the backbone of the collection in exquisite noble fibres with unique detailing."
Three spring/summer 2012 inspirations:
“The glamour of 1960s/1970s travel, 1970s Jaeger advertising campaigns and colour, detail and texture.”
What’s next for your brand?
“Continued expansion in the UK, international markets and online.”
Who are your design heroes?
“Marcel Wanders, Madeleine Vionnet, Geoffrey Beene, David Collins, Rem Koolhaas and Andrée Putman.”
What’s your favourite cultural hotspot in the capital?
“The Serpentine, White Cube, Whitechapel Gallery and Shakespeare’s Globe.”
In five years’ time I will be…
“Continuing to tap into my passion for heritage designs to create modern, innovative, wearable collections.”
