“I create for a complex woman who can only live in chaos.”
Founder and Designer of TOGA ARCHIVES, Yasuko Furuta

After graduating from ESMOD Paris, Yasuko Furuta founded TOGA in 1997 in Tokyo, and it has grown to be one of Japan’s most preeminent brands to emerge in the last twenty years, winning the prestigious ANDAM award in 2007. Over the years, TOGA has presented and shown collections in Tokyo and Paris and making its London Fashion Week debut with their A/W 14 collection "Crudity, Durability, Roughness" and followed last S/S15 collection
"Fragment, Reflection, Floating" which garnered positive reviews and exposed the brand to a wider international audience. Alongside the SS15 collection, TOGA launched a small
collection of women's handbags and clutches to expand its accessory offering and
compliment its successful TOGA PULLA shoe line.

TOGA is taken from the true meaning of the word - “blessed robe” and with that in mind Furuta designs clothes with hidden complexity and nuanced layers.  TOGA is distinguished by its exclusive and extensive fabric research and unusual mix of style genres to create clothes that tell a curious narrative. TOGA has expanded to include a TOGA PULLA diffusion line, menswear, a shoe line, and most recently their bags.

Toga has three stores in Japan with international key stockists including Selfridges, Matches, Net-a-Porter, Colette, Ikram, Opening Ceremony, Lane Crawford, Joyce, Isetan and United Arrows.
