DESIGNER NAME: Kult Domini
BACKGROUND: Based in London, Kate Deeley has previously worked for Vivienne Westwood and Victoria Beckham.
SIGNATURES: “Each pair of Kult Domini shoes is produced by hand, following the most traditional methods of shoe craftsmanship. Stacked wooden heels, nailed leather soles and elegant hand-stitched detailing can be seen throughout.”
TRADEMARK PIECE: “The Kult Domini brogue and its signature toe.”
THE COLLECTION: "The spring/summer 2015 collection Babylonia is drawn from the natural science of our planet. Ancient Babylonia was the source of some of the earliest writings on the study of chemistry and the physical properties of minerals. The colours and textures are inspired by those naturally occurring found embedded in the earth's crust. Leathers are dyed using the ancient and traditional technique of vegetable tanning which shows off the leather in its most natural state. Vegetable tanning is the most environmentally friendly method to tan leather as there are only natural ingredients used to dye the leather; it relies on slow development over time.”
IF YOU COULD DRESS ANYONE, WHO WOULD IT BE AND WHY? "I would like Babylonia to be worn by Stevie Nicks in the 70s."
