DESIGNER NAME: Alla Berman

BACKGROUND: Alla lives in Los Angeles, having graduated from the prestigious Parsons School of Design in New York. Her first job was with Anne Klein where she worked under tutelage of Louis Dell'Olio and then Richard Tyler. Alla’s love of contemporary fashion took her from New York to Los Angeles where she designed for BCBG and later Parallel. After a number of years of owning and designing her own label she found home at Hale Bob and has been there ever since.

SIGNATURES: “Individual print designs all done in house which are exclusive to Hale bob.Novelty in each and every piece - even our basics have a novel twist. Killer fit on our leggings. Incredible silks! Effortless and feminine styling - designed to work for a modern woman's demanding lifestyle.”

TRADEMARK PIECE: “Novelty tunic tops are signature hale bob. We also have a cult following on our printed dresses and most definitely our novelty leggings that fit incredibly! Mixed media (mixing of fabrications and prints) is one of the biggest themes that exists in AW13 and is what makes every piece so special and different from everything else available today.”

IDEAL CLIENT: “We have the diversity within our collection to dress not only many age groups - 25-65 year olds - but also to cater to the lifestyles of any woman, whether she is a socialite, banker or rock star!”

THE COLLECTION: “Fashion through the decades! We had 60s inspiration early in our autumn/winter deliveries as well as a strong 90s moment towards the end.”

CULTURAL INFLUENCES: “We are always influenced by beautiful elements and art all over the world. We are mainly influenced by the effortless cool style of women as far back as Jane Birken and Talitha Getty to the creative street style of the fashion icons of today such as Giovanna Battaglia, Mira Duma and Hanneli Mustaparta. We love finding ways of re-mixing vintage influences and making them feel completely modern and new.”

PLANS FOR 2013: “We are positioned for growth in all of our core categories. We also plan to focus more on our retail environment and continue to build the brand in all aspects.”
