Winner of the Drapers shoe designer of the year award in 2013, Kat Maconie has built an internationally recognized footwear brand through her irreverent and conceptual designs.
Known for signature gold hardware details, block heels and strong prints, the brand has, in six years, expanded from a small range of ballerinas designed in a tiny West London studio, to fifty points of sale across four continents. These include two stand-alone flagships in Shanghai and Chengdu with more openings planned for 2016.
Born in London, Kat Maconie attended the London College of Fashion. After graduation she worked at a number of fashion houses where she gained invaluable experience in design, manufacturing and development. In 2009, keen to forge her own creative signature, she launched her eponymous label and was immediately feted as a rising British star.
Kat Maconie has created catwalk shoes for Felder Felder and Fyodor Golan and collaborated with British high street giant Dune for a range of accessible pieces. In 2012, British PM David Cameron invited Kat to join a small group of leading businessmen and women on a trip to South America to encourage trade between the UK and Brazil. 2016 sees the launch of the handbag and accessories line, continuing the momentum of growth and creativity to date.
