DESIGNER NAMES: Karen Erickson and Vicki Beamon

BACKGROUND: Karen and Vicki are from Detroit. They started Erickson Beamon and built their brand from the ground up. Vicki learnt her trade through hard work, experimentation and collaborating with many incredible people including John Galliano, Ana Sui, Givenchy, Zac Posen and Erdem. Vicki was her own teacher, and lucky enough to live and work in two of the major fashion capitals of the world, New York and London. They have been going for 3 decades.

CULTURAL INFLUENCES: “Vicki always has her finger on the pulse of what is current and happening and constantly draws inspiration from everything around her. Living in London makes it easy; there are endless art exhibitions, amazing films, and theatre productions. In short Vicki’s inspiration comes from many sources. It can be a mood, an event, a movie, or a piece of art. Something just pulls a string and it takes off."
