Design Background: Costelloe studied at La Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture in Paris. Before setting up his brand, he worked at Jaques Esterel in Paris, La Reniscente in Milan and Anne Fogarty in New York.

How would you describe the Paul Costelloe woman? “Slim, trim and intelligent.”

Name three things that are inspiring you for spring/summer 2011? “Madeleine Vionnet, 1920s and 1930s reinterpreted with a rock’n’roll attitude.”

What’s new for you this season? “Silver and short, or maxi.”

Where do you go in London to seek ideas for a forthcoming collection? “Going to work from Putney: cycling down the Kings Road and onto Sloane Street.”
