Design background: Filippo studied Fashion Psychology at Harvard. He has previously worked for Ralph Lauren and Donna Karen.

What is your signature style? “I like to take classic fashion pieces such as the dinner shirt or trench coat and translate them into a completely different garment using their detailing as my inspiration.”

How would you describe the DAKS woman? “She is a very strong, confident career woman who at the same time exudes elegance and femininity.”

Name three things that are inspiring you for autumn/winter 2010: “The 1940s, aviation from that era and Amelia Earhart.”

What encapsulates fashionable London for you? “I love to spend time around Westbourne Grove.”

What do you hope the new decade will mean for your brand? “We hope to grow the retail business in the UK and break into new markets such as the United States.”

How does London influence your designs? “I think London is a beautiful, elegant city. I love the architecture and the parks but I also find the street culture inspiring for my work.”
