Fifi Chachnil loves femininity and is inspired by all women. From her atelier in Paris Fifi works with a comprehensive view to reassure and introduce woman to a world of sensual and frivolous beauty. Her creations are sentimental and often represent the caricature of a fantastical Parisian women.
It was in 1984 that Fifi launched her first collection under the name Chachnil. A collection of ready-to-wear garments that brought an element of theatre and sparkle to clothing at a time when black deconstructed styling was â la mode. Chachnil produced skating outfits, ruffled bloomers and cowgirl suits worn by musicians, artists and the Parisian elite on and off the stage. It was during this time that she met her long time friends and collaborators such as artists Pierre et Gilles and Ellen von Unwerth.
Whilst under the name Chachnil, Fifi established a penchant for showing her collections in quintessentially Parisian venues. The second floor of the Eiffel Tower, Le Lido on the Champs Elysee and Le Crazy Horse Paris to name a few.
In the year of 1996, after an inspiring trip to Los Angeles, Chachnil pursued her love of designing lingerie and launched the house of Fifi Chachnil. Today Fifi Chachnil produces ready-to-wear, lingerie, swimwear, accessories and fragrance.
