How would you describe the Clements Ribeiro woman? “The one who wears and keeps our pieces as an expression of themselves.

Name three things that are inspiring you for autumn/winter 2010: “Opium dens, Yves Saint Laurent in the 70s and the film 2047.”

What encapsulates fashionable London for you? “London Fashion Week at Somerset House. At last, a great home for the shows.”

What do you hope the new decade will mean for your brand? “The next decade will see our work blossom and grow. We have started low-key and very prudently, being mindful of the recession in the background. As our business takes off, the collection will grow in ambition and scope.”

How does London influence your designs? “London keeps us fresh. We love the fact that although designers and collections have grown hugely in relevance and polish, the lack of corporate thinking keeps us all young and original.”
